PepsiCo-Jordan organized an awareness week aimed at reducing the number of traffic accidents in cooperation with the Central Traffic Department (CTD) from the Public Security Directorate and within the framework of its traffic awareness programs. As part of its involvement, PepsiCo-Jordan printed more than 50,000 awareness brochures entitled ‘A beautiful summer without traffic accidents’ to be distributed across the Kingdom.

"Organizing the awareness week falls in line with our firm belief in the importance of public-private partnerships to combat the mounting problem of traffic accidents in Jordan. For this reason, we decided to cooperate with the Central Traffic Department from the Public Security Directorate and to support their dedicated efforts towards establishing safe and accident-free roads. To achieve higher levels of traffic safety across the Kingdom, both drivers’ and pedestrians’ level of awareness should be raised regarding the importance of adhering to traffic rules and regulations," commented Eng. Nidal Hamam, General Manager of PepsiCo-Jordan.

In turn, Central Traffic Department (CTD) Director Col., Yaser Harahsheh, reiterated the key role that strategic partners play in promoting traffic awareness among citizens. He went on to add that the partners’ efforts effectively contribute towards raising traffic awareness, which in turn curbs the number of road accidents taking place.

Background Information

Pepsi Cola International

In 1965, Donald Kendall, the CEO of Pepsi-Cola, and Herman Lay, the CEO of Frito-Lay, recognized what they called “a marriage made in heaven,” a single company delivering perfectly-salty snacks served alongside the best cola on earth. Their vision led to what quickly became one of the world's leading food and beverage companies: PepsiCo.

For more than 50 years, as tastes, trends and lifestyles have changed, PepsiCo has evolved with them. Our willingness to adapt and grow has transformed our snack and soda company into a collection of global brands including Pepsi and Quaker, Gatorade and Tropicana, Frito-Lay and beyond. Today, PepsiCo is one of the world’s most-respected companies with products sold in more than 200 countries and territories and 22 brands that generate more than $1 billion each in estimated annual retail sales.
