PepsiCo Launches Second Edition of Change the Game Challenge

PepsiCo, the global food and beverage company, is announcing the launch of “Change the Game Challenge” on September 7th, 2017 for the second year consecutively. Given the success of last year’s competition, the Change the Game Challenge 2017 will be opened to even more countries than before, giving millennials in 10 countries the opportunity to sign up and participate.
Through the Change the Game Challenge, participants – in teams of two – will be asked to solve this year’s business challenge of starting their own health and nutrition business in the food and beverage industry, in line with PepsiCo’s product philosophy.
Omar Farid, PepsiCo President, Middle East and North Africa, said: “This unique competition enables us to provide talented youth with an opportunity that will significantly boost their career, and improve their employability prospects. After last year’s great success, we look forward to the Change the Game Challenge 2017 revealing more incredible potential within the millennial population, who will have the opportunity to expand their horizons as part of the PepsiCo team. The Change the Game Challenge reflects our commitment to building sustainable communities where participants will have access to educational and informative sessions delivered by PepsiCo professionals, providing them with a novel insight into the workings of our company, and experiential knowledge that they can transfer to their future careers.”
Regional winners from Asia Pacific, MENA (Middle East and North Africa) and India are offered a job with PepsiCo in their respective regions, and are invited to travel on an all-expenses paid trip to Dubai to compete in the final round to win a one-year-international job offer or a 2-months paid international internship within Asia, Middle East & North Africa, and a trip to New York.
First runners-up are offered a job or a 2-months paid internship with PepsiCo in their home country or given the opportunity to shadow PepsiCo business leaders for a week, while second runners-up will be given the opportunity to shadow PepsiCo business leaders for a day in their respective home country.
The final winning team will pitch their ideas to Indra Nooyi, PepsiCo CEO and one of the world’s most powerful women in business – something that the 2016 winners, Amr Ezzat and Omar Nada, were extremely proud to do. “We flew to New York, went to the PepsiCo Headquarters, and couldn’t believe that we would present our idea to Indra Nooyi,” said Amr. “When we met with Ms Nooyi, she was attentive, very interested in our idea, and she made us feel very confident. It was an amazing experience, something that we really recommend everyone be a part of. Working with PepsiCo for the last one year has been phenomenal in giving us a real sense of direction in our careers.”
This year’s competition covers even more countries than ever before, welcoming registrations from eligible hopefuls in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Philippines, Republic of Korea, Thailand, Pakistan and India.
Registration for Change the Game Challenge 2017 begins from September 7 till October 6 2017, via www.pepsicochangethegame.com. Teams are invited to submit their elevator pitches from October 7th to October 20th, followed by business case submissions from October 25th to November 15th, with the final round taking place in Dubai between November 26 and 30, 2017.

Background Information
Pepsi Cola International
In 1965, Donald Kendall, the CEO of Pepsi-Cola, and Herman Lay, the CEO of Frito-Lay, recognized what they called “a marriage made in heaven,” a single company delivering perfectly-salty snacks served alongside the best cola on earth. Their vision led to what quickly became one of the world's leading food and beverage companies: PepsiCo.
For more than 50 years, as tastes, trends and lifestyles have changed, PepsiCo has evolved with them. Our willingness to adapt and grow has transformed our snack and soda company into a collection of global brands including Pepsi and Quaker, Gatorade and Tropicana, Frito-Lay and beyond. Today, PepsiCo is one of the world’s most-respected companies with products sold in more than 200 countries and territories and 22 brands that generate more than $1 billion each in estimated annual retail sales.
