Qatar Foundation hosts Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych

Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development hosted Viktor Yanukovych, President of the Ukraine, earlier today. A welcoming committee received the president and his delegation at the Qatar Foundation Visitor Center.
President Yanukovych, who assumed his position in February 2010, listened to a presentation outlining the vision and mission of Qatar Foundation. He was also introduced to the many educational initiatives, community development plans and scientific research programmes undertaken by Qatar Foundation.
The Ukrainian president was also briefed on Qatar Foundation’s numerous sustainability initiatives and climate action solutions. He is in Doha on a two-day state visit that aims at enhancing bilateral relations, and provides both nations with the opportunity to discuss regional and international issues of mutual concern.
After the presentation, President Yanukovych and his delegation were shown an impressive 3D scale model of the current buildings and future construction projects at Qatar Foundation.
President Yanukovych graduated in 1980 from Donetsk Polytechnic Institute, now known as Donetsk State Technical University, with a major in Mechanical Engineering. He obtained a Master’s degree in International Law from the Ukrainian Academy of Foreign Trade in 2001. Viktor Yanukovych is also a member of the Academy of Economic Sciences of Ukraine, PhD in Economics.
