Qatar Foundation Veterans honored for hard work and dedication

Since opening its doors in 1995, Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF) has flourished as a center of educational excellence and innovation. And tonight its loyal workforce was honored for the part they have played in this success at QF’s 2012 Long Service Award Ceremony. The event took place at Qatar National Convention Centre to celebrate the commitment of 193 esteemed staff members who have completed five, 10 or 15 years of service.
QF President Dr. Mohammad Fathy Saoud paid tribute to the dedication of the assembled employees. ”This celebration is an annual tradition of Qatar Foundation, to honor its leaders and members who continually contribute to the success of our institution,” said Dr. Saoud. “Tonight not only provides us with a unique opportunity to reflect on all that we have achieved, but to be proud of the community we belong to.”
On its journey to help transform the nation to a knowledge economy, QF has many accomplishments to be proud of thus far, including its successful retention of such a devoted and highly trained staff. Adding to Dr. Saoud’s comments, Executive Director of QF Human Resources Mr. Hassan Mohamed Al Hammadi highlighted the importance of QF’s mission to build human capacity in Qatar.
"Human capital is crucial for the success of any institution, and here at Qatar Foundation we strive to provide the necessary training to our employees so they can unlock their own human potential. In doing so, we are equipping them with the tools necessary to achieve the Foundation’s lofty mission of transforming the nation to a knowledge economy,” said Mr. Al Hammadi."I am proud to be in the presence of my colleagues tonight and to honor them for all their years of hard work at Qatar Foundation," he continued.
QF currently has a workforce of over two and a half thousand employees, 38 percent of whom are Qatari. Members of QF’s executive management team were among those receiving awards for their long years of service at tonight’s ceremony, including the QF Communication Director Ms. Haya bint Khalifa Al Nassr, who was recognized as one of QF’s pioneers.
She said, "Qatar Foundation's major strength is its people who demonstrate their loyalty and commitment to QF every day. I am delighted to have spent more than a decade contributing to the success of the Foundation, and I encourage all of my colleagues and newly joined employees to devote their energy to helping QF achieve its noble objectives."
To celebrate QF and FC Barcelona’s flourishing partnership, an FCB package was raffled at the end of the night. The partnership represents the institutions’ shared values, and their mutual commitment to the pursuit of excellence by the unlocking of human potential through sports. The lucky winner received a trip for two to the Catalan city, including VIP tickets to watch a game at Camp Nou.
As the ceremony drew to a close, the awardees gathered for a group photograph along with QF’s Executive Management.
