Patients at Hamad Medical Corporation’s (HMC) Communicable Disease Center (CDC) recently received a donation of sporting goods from a visiting delegation of Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) officials.

The donated gifts included basketball hoops, gymnastic equipment and a table tennis set. The new equipment will be kept in the patients’ recreation room at the CDC.

The QRCS delegation also visited the Special Education Center at Rumailah Hospital to present gifts. The donation included a collection of recreational and educational toys designed to help develop the cognitive and behavioral skills of children with special needs. Safety padding and flooring material were included among the donated gift items.

Mr. Ali Al Khater, HMC’s Chief Communications Officer, thanked the QRCS for their generosity. He stated that the donation reinforced the ongoing collaboration between HMC and QRCS and reflected both organizations’ commitment to promoting the well-being of all members of the community by encouraging them to engage in sport and adopt a healthy lifestyle.
