QF’s education development institute hosts event highlighting importance of lifelong learning

Qatar Foundation’s second annual Qatari Educators Gathering recently brought together 50 local teachers to network and share success stories and best practices, while helping to build a foundation for lifelong learning.
The Qatar Foundation (QF) event, organized by Pre-University Education’s (PUE) Education Development Institute, featured an informative panel discussion, as well as the opportunity for teachers within the QF ecosystem to network.
Speaking at the gathering, Abeer Al Khalifa, President of PUE, praised the teachers and educators, acknowledging their role in instilling the values, ideas, and principles that will shape the lives of their students.
"I am pleased to be with you today, at the second annual Qatari Educators Gathering, to shed light on the role of Qatari teachers in the academic and non-academic programs of Qatar Foundation,” said Al Khalifa.
“Teachers are the main pillar in our schools, the driving force behind the success of our students and their progress towards building a better future – as well as a source of their pride in their heritage and national identity. Teachers are role models; they instill important values and beliefs in young people.”
Al Khalifa highlighted the importance of lifelong learning during the event, encouraging teachers to invest in their own professional development to continue serving as effective role models and to take advantage of the opportunities provided by EDI.
"I am also pleased to address our non-academic staff, you silently work behind the scenes to provide essential support to our teachers and students, enabling them to achieve their aspirations and goals while upholding the values of our institution. We will not forget your commitment, and we are inspired by your sincerity and dedication.
“I thank you for your commitment to the mission and vision of Qatar Foundation. I am proud to be here, among this distinguished group of teachers and educators – the makers of leaders – who inspire the youth and are the driving force towards a brighter future.”
According to Sara Al Hajri, Assistant Director of Culture, Heritage & Identity at EDI, part of QF’s PUE, this annual gathering for QF teachers enables participants to share experiences, discuss challenges, and find inspiration through relatable stories.
“This event serves as a valuable source of professional development for educators and our aim is to bring together schools to foster communication among teachers, with a specific focus on Qataris.
“Challenges are a common aspect of every educator's journey. Despite that, our teachers exhibit a passion for education, possess ambition, and eagerly embrace the changes happening around them.
“These meetings hold tremendous personal and professional benefits for teachers. When teachers grow and develop, it directly influences the growth of their students. Indeed, there are many advantages to communicating with other teachers, including enhancing their professional abilities.”
