QF Supports Accessible Learning With a FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Flavor

Accessibility toolkits created with the support of Qatar Foundation experts are helping to provide inclusive sporting opportunities for students with autism, cognitive disabilities, and learning challenges in the build-up to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™.
The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC), in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, has launched an online, interactive education platform, Tamreen, that helps children and young people to develop core skills while learning about the legacy that the first FIFA World Cup™ in the Middle East and the Arab world will create.
Through the accessibility toolkits, students, educators, and parents benefit from educational resources ranging from games and quizzes to videos and infographics. They reflect Qatar’s aim of hosting the most accessible FIFA World Cup™ ever, and Qatar Foundation (QF) has played a central role in their development.
The Learning Center (TLC) and Renad Academy – both of which are part of QF’s Pre-University Education – have both contributed to the Tamreen toolkits, with TLC’s Autism Specialist team ensuring they address a range of different needs, adapting them to students they have taught. This has included supporting the visual and practical aspect of the toolkits and providing students with real-life learning experiences.
Autism Specialists are specifically trained to analyze resources through the eyes of a child, with access to all types of learning and creating a fun and engaging experience being seen as a crucial to the success of any educational endeavor. “Tamreen’s toolkits will help teachers, community members, and families Deliver Amazing,” said Sara Coleman, one of the TLC Autism Specialists.
“The lessons and activities incorporate and encourage the use of real-life objects that connect students to the variety of experiences involved in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™. The toolkits are easily integrated into any curriculum and address the needs of all learners.”
Tamreen is designed for students aged 8-18 years, allowing them to cultivate their skills in core areas of the school curriculum while also gaining deeper understanding of the SC’s development goals and the legacy of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™. The launch of the platform has seen 22 accessibility toolkits developed – covering subjects such as math, science, Arabic, English, social, studies, and art – with their resources also available through the Tamreen website.
Through Tamreen, schools can also gain special recognition through their online activity, while students can place their creative skills in the spotlight by participating in competitions. Over 200 governmental schools have registered for the Tamreen program, alongside 20 private schools.
