QScience.com announces new name with third volume

QScience.com’s online, peer-reviewed research journal has officially changed its name from ‘Aswan Heart Center Science & Practice Series’ to ‘Global Cardiology Science & Practice’. This change is designed to more accurately describe the original mission of the publication, which is to present to its readership the latest advancements in the areas of science, practice and global cardiology.
The journal, which produced its first volume in April 2011, will carry the new name and logo for all its research manuscripts from this day forward.
Global Cardiology Science & Practice has this weekpublished Issue 3 onQScience.com, the digital publishing portal for research journals. All content is ‘open access’, meaning that articles are free to read on the internet, and that authors retain copyright on their work. Research topics covered in the issue include a study into cardiovascular inequalities among indigenous Australians, clinical and molecular classification of cardiomyopathies, and an introduction to molecular genetics.
Sir Magdi Yacoub, Editor in Chief for Global Cardiology, said, “We remain fully committed to the mission of the journal and invite submissions in all three areas, as well as comments on how we can improve our methods of achieving the declared objectives. We are delighted with the thought-provoking contributions from the highly distinguished authors of this edition, who have demonstrated skill and originality in their analyses. The range of articles presented herein highlights the international temperament of our journal, with authors from Europe, Australia, the USA, Asia and Qatar. Furthermore, the wide distribution and accessibility of this journal will maximise its readership and broaden its reach.”
Arend Küster, Managing Director of QScience, added, “The new title gives us the opportunity to refocus and expand the journal’s reach, while still providing high quality, original research from scholars in this field.”
QScience.com already hosts twelve scholarly journals covering diverse subject areas such as information & library studies, sustainable energy, education, medicine and bioscience, Middle Eastern healthcare, law, design and Islamic studies. Several other journals are scheduled to be added by the end of the year.
