Qatar Tourism Authority partners with Al Jazeera International Documentary Film Festival

Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) has partnered with Al Jazeera International Film Festival during the ninth edition, which took place at the Sheraton Doha from 18 -21 April 2013.
This year’s theme was “Window to the World”, discussing the challenges the world faces and ways to overcome them through various discussions and symposiums. It constantly endeavored to promote creative talent from all over the world and in this way, leaving behind a unique stamp of originality and professionalism.
QTA’s partnership with Al Jazeera International Film Festival comes as a part of QTA’s new strategy to strengthen the corporation between the authority and various local and international partners and stakeholders, Al Jazeera being one of these strategic partners.
Mrs. Hend Zainal, Head of Marketing & PR at QTA, commented: “We at QTA are honored with the partnership with Al Jazeera International Film Festival, as we consider this prestigious international event a key partner in promoting Qatar as an upscale touristic destination. This year the Festival showcased excellent quality of Arab productions in different sectors. The increase in the number of entries this year reflected the growing reputation of the festival worldwide.”
The aim behind having this annual film festival is to introduce different cultures from all over the world, world foster better relationships through an exchange of experiences and knowledge thus creating a foundation of respect and understanding.
Aligned with this perspective, QTA has participated in a Stand at the production exhibition at the sideline of the festival, were touristic maps and information on Qatar was shared with the visitors, as well as the foreign televisions and production houses who were present there.
Combining culture and tourism, QTA has created a unique tourism offering as a business oriented destination with state of the art, business, leisure and cultural offerings. Qatar is home to major event centers, making it well placed to host large scale events and exhibitions.
