RAK Properties gears up for major eco-initiatives

RAK Properties PJSC, Ras Al Khaimah’s biggest property developer listed on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, is committed to eco-initiatives activities as part of its environmental protection efforts. The developer has coordinated with the Waste Management Authority of Ras Al Khaimah’s Public Works and Services Department and provided access to a mangrove forest within its Mina Al Arab waterfront development for cleanup. It has also participated in the local observance of the international Earth Hour on March 19, 2016.

Each year, local authorities organize a beach cleanup campaign with the support of the community, businesses and schools. RAK Properties, one of the campaign’s regular supporters, accommodated a volunteer group of high school students from Ras Al Khaimah Academy last Friday who collected marine debris along the coastline adjacent to Mina Al Arab, a master development embodying RAK Properties’ philosophy and promise of ‘Living closer to nature.’ Special resource speakers from the Environment Protection & Development Authority discussed the importance of beach clean-up activities. 

RAK Properties has also switched of non-essential lights at all of its projects in celebration of this year’s Earth Hour which was on Saturday, March 19, 2016. Organized annually by the World Wide Fund for Nature, Earth Hour is a worldwide movement that encourages individuals, communities, households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights for one hour from 8:30 to 9:30 pm and even onwards as a symbol of their commitment to the planet.

The initiatives are in line with RAK Properties’ full commitment to the preservation and protection of the environment and natural resources.
