RAK Road Riders 2018 Aims at Guinness Record in Motorcycle Wheelies

The debut bike expo and show, RAK Road Riders 2018 under the patronage of HH Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, member of the UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah will aim to break the Guinness record in motorcycle wheelies, senior officials of the RAK Chamber of Commerce and Industry said today.

Speaking at a press conference on the eve of the event, HE Mohamed Ali Musabbeh Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said: “Motorcycle wheelies will be one of the highlights of RAK Road Riders 2018 wherein we will look at setting a new world record. We are also looking at scoring new records in Stunt Master’s Cup which is coming to Ras Al Khaimah for the first time.”

“The Ride with the theme of `Zayed in our Hearts’ which will mark the finale of RAK Road Riders 2018 will also set a new record in the UAE terms of distance and the number of participants,” he said.

`The Ride’ which will have over 500 bikers from the UAE and across the world taking a charted route through the heart of Ras Al Khaimah will wind up at the peak of Jebel Al Jais, the largest mountain range of the UAE.

Competition to set a new record in motorcycle wheelies will see expert bikers taking part on individual basis. According to Guinness, the record is measured by the number of complete circle wheelies performed on a motorcycle in a specified time frame, mostly in one minute. A wheelie is defined as a 360 degree revolution while riding on the rear tyre of the motorcycle.

“The concept of RAK Road Riders 2018 is in sync with the vision of HH Sheik Saud to make Ras Al Khaimah as a unique destination for tourism and economic investments in diverse sectors. As a trade and investment entity, RAK Chamber has a pivotal role to play in empowering businesses to fuel the economic growth of the emirate and the UAE,” Al-Nuaimi added.

The main attractions of RAK Road Riders will include a Custom Bike Show, the internationally acclaimed Stunt Master’s Cup, a Retail Business Expo, the motorcycle wheelie show and The Ride which is expected to be a scintillating finale.

The bike expo will showcase modified motorcycles and the latest international models with more than 40 exhibitors from international companies such as Harley Davidson, taking part.

“Our aim is to make RAK Road Riders an event of diversity, wherein business interests of RAK are blended with family attractions. The event, a commemorative celebration of the late Sheikh Zayed promises to be serious and at the same time with components of leisure and entertainment, including for kids,” said Mohammed Hassan Alsabab, Acting Director General of Ras Al Khaimah Chamber.

He said RAK Road Riders 2018 was the first step in RAK Chamber’s plan to organize a series of events in the days to come. “The response to RAK Road Riders 2018 has been overwhelming and expo participation is 100 per cent booked by multinational motorcycle brands,” he added.

RAK Road Riders which is being organized in cooperation with specialist events and conference company, Events Lab, will also have entertainment activities for families, a kid’s zone and a bike auction.

“RAK Road Riders .will be an annual expo and show on the RAK calendar of events and thanks to the overwhelming response to the first show, we will organize it next year in March,” said Ahmed El Sabaee, Project Manager, RAK Road Riders 2018.
