Ramada Ajman organises 1st Ramada Football Championship

Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman, a premier destination for business and leisure travellers, recently organised the first Ramada Football Championship in coordination with Wyndham Hotels Group where Ramada Downtown Dubai emerged as this year’s champion.

A total of eight teams comprised of Ramada Dubai, Ramada Downtown Dubai, Ramada Sharjah, Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman, Ramada Jumeirah Dubai, Ramada Chelsea Dubai, Wyndham Hotel Group and Howard Johnson Dubai competed in the one-day tournament held at the Malaeb floodlit playground in Ajman.

Iftikhar Hamdani, General Manager, Ramada Ajman said: “We are very pleased with the result of the first Ramada Football Championship held in Ajman. It was a very successful event and we had a good number of participants. We are proud to host this event which brought the management and staff from our sister companies together to compete in a friendly match. I believed this is one of the best entertainments that we provided to all the Ramada hotel employees and management. This is just a start of many sporting events we will sponsor in the future!”

Hussein Kahil, Vice President for Operations, Wyndham Hotels MENA, said: “We are thankful to Ramada Ajman for hosting such a big and well organised event for our group. This tournament brought us all together in one platform and we will host more events in the future to bring our brands together!”

The teams played using a knock out system. The team of Ramada Ajman, Ramada Dubai, Ramada Jumeirah and Ramada Downtown qualified for the semi-final rounds. The final game was played between Ramada Downtown and Ramada Jumeirah where Ramada Downtown won the tournament based on the number of kicks from its players.

After the awarding ceremony, the teams and all the participants enjoyed a sumptuous meal prepared by the hosting property.
