Hawthorn Suites and Ramada Downtown step up initiatives for Earth Hour 2015

Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham and Ramada Downtown Dubai joined the global community in the observance of Earth Hour 2015. Both hotels broadened the initiative by organising a beach clean-up drive near Umm Suqeim Park for the whole afternoon. The event, participated in by about 50 staff, was supported and endorsed by Dubai Municipality.

For the much anticipated hour which was from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm, the hotels switched off the lights in their main areas including the lobby and restaurants, and encouraged the guests to take part in the initiative.   

Earth Hour is a global environmental movement by World Wide Fund (WWF) which started in Sydney Australia in 2007. The initiative continues to gain support from the global community in raising awareness about the impact of climate change.
