RasGas cooperates with Aspire Zone Foundation for “step into health” Program

Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF) and RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) have announced their co-operation in Aspire Zone Foundation’s brand new step into health program that will kick off this Saturday, December 22nd, to inspire and urge Qatar’s people to take charge of their future by stepping up their physical activity. Targeting core groups who do not exercise or walk on a regular basis, Program organizers will provide a complimentary pedometer device to registered participants.
Several senior officials from AZF and RasGas attended the agreement signing ceremony, Mr. Ibrahim Al Darwish, COO of Aspetar (member organization of AZF) and Mr. Abdulla Hashim, Public Affairs Manager at RasGas, were heading the event.
Along with the complimentary pedometer devices, Aspire Zone Foundation is providing a free online application that helps motivate participants and facilitate the process by analyzing results and answering any questions they may have. In addition, AZF will host a range of community inspired events throughout the year encouraging the Qatari community to take part.
Al Darwish emphasized the exceptional importance of this program in promoting a healthy active lifestyle, “This program is one of our various approaches supporting Qatar Vision 2030, especially the second Human Development outcome reaching a healthy nation mentally and physically.”
“There has been a substantial rise in obesity levels in Qatar and this partnership represents the tremendous efforts taken by leading entities in Qatar to try and encourage the changing of attitudes across the nation. We are proud to be working together with RasGas to help create a healthier nation.” Al Darwish added.
Hashim praised the brand new program: “RasGas’ sponsorship for the AZF step into health program is in support of what we believe will be a significant step towards creating a healthier and more active Qatar.” He highlighted, “This program marks the last in a long string of initiatives and activities we have undertaken for our Year of Health 2012 CSR campaign which aimed at raising awareness on nutrition and the importance of leading an active lifestyle.”
