Royal Jordanian was the proud sponsor of Jordanian kickboxer Fares Asha Dawaymeh, who got "the best player" title at the Arabian Kickboxing Championship and won the silver medal in the under-67 kg category in this tournament that was held in Tunisia this week.

Taking part were competitors from Jordan, Egypt, Algeria, Syria, Morocco, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Tunisia.

RJ' sponsorship consisted of free tickets for the player and his coach, Musaab Dawaymeh, on Amman- Tunis-Amman route.

Upon arriving back in Amman, on Nov. 11, on board RJ's journey from Tunis, the champion and his coach were welcomed at Queen Alia International Airport by RJ employees.

RJ President/CEO Captain Suleiman Obeidat congratulated the kickboxer on behalf of RJ’s family. He said that this Jordanian achievement reflects the outstanding individual competences of the Jordanian youth. He also praised Dawaymeh's high skills and competitiveness.

Support for sports activities is part of the national carrier’s keenness to back Jordanians in different fields: social, cultural, economic, artistic and sports.

It is a display of the company's social responsibility toward excelling Jordanians in a bid to help them advance at all levels.

The player and his coach thanked RJ for their support that enabled them to take part in this championship. They praised the national carrier for its support for sports and Jordanian athletes.

Last August, the airline sponsored Jordanian champion Ahmad Abu Ghaush who won gold medal at Rio’s Olympics 2016 in taekwondo, the first gold for Jordan in the Olympics.
