Under the slogan “Run for a Cause”, Run Jordan will support The Disabled Child Care Society-Irbid to cover the participation fees of 50 physically impaired runners and their guide runners in Ayla Red Sea Half Marathon 2017.

As part of its agreement with The Ministry of Education, Run Jordan will give the chance to 500 students from Aqaba governorate public schools to be part of this event; to encourage them playing sports and living a healthy lifestyle.

And to shed light on athletes with disabilities, Ayla Oasis Development Company, Ayla Red Sea Half Marathon’s main sponsor has collaborated with Run Jordan to support a number of the physically impaired and visually impaired runners.

Lina El-Kurd, Run Jordan General Manager, commented on sponsoring and supporting those different parties, saying: “Run Jordan aims to promote sports and a healthy lifestyle in the Jordanian society, and as we keen on supporting humanitarian and charitable causes in every event we hold, we established cooperation agreements with several societies that cater for children and athletes with special needs like Ajyal Society for the physically handicapped based in Aqaba, in addition to allowing 500 students from Aqaba public schools to participate in the races for free.”

The race consists of three categories: 21km, 10km Fun Run and 4.2km Children’s Race. The starting point for the 21km race will be the Intercontinental Hotel and end at Revolution Square (Sahet Al Thawra).
