Samaya Hotel Deira joins Clean Up the World Campaign 2011

The staff and management of Samaya Hotel Deira, a five star property strategically located in the commercial and business districts of Deira, has participated in the Clean Up the World Campaign 2011 launched by the Dubai Municipality from 23^rd to 28^th October.

Under the slogan “Our Place. Our Planet. Our Responsibility” the yearly voluntary clean up drive was launched since 1994 as part of a global campaign in creating awareness about the environment and disseminating the right environmental culture among the members of the community in light of the worsening environmental problems.

Mr. Fouad Bizri, General Manager, Samaya Hotel Deira, said: "We are pleased to join this yearly clean up campaign because we are part of the Dubai community and we want to maintain a clean environment not only for this generation but the future generations. We are now experiencing a global environmental problem so we need to act together to save our planet and we can start by cleaning our surroundings and educate others about the importance of this initiative!”

The Clean Up the World is a global environmental campaign and is one of the most important awareness campaigns organised every year worldwide by Clean Up the World, the Australia-based programme by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) since 1989. It aims to gather volunteers to work together for a massive campaign to clean up the environment together with a focus on raising awareness of decision makers and local and global communities on issues related to the environment and develop strategies for the sustainable management waste.
