Sami Joe Abi Nakhle Crowned Winner of First-Ever Toyota Gazoo Racing MENA Digital Cup
Lebanon Digital racer Sami Joe Abi Nakhle has clinched the prestigious title of the region’s first-ever Toyota Gazoo Racing MENA Digital Cup hosted in Jordan on Saturday 11 September, 2021 in the presence of HRH Prince Omar AlFeisal, The Chairman of the Jordanian eSports Committee.
Meanwhile, Izz Bustami from Jordan and Qatar’s Khaled Al-Maraghi finished the event in second and third places, respectively.
22 contestants from 11 countries - Lebanon, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Cyprus, Palestine, Mauritania, Oman and Jordan - competed amidst an electrifying atmosphere that replicated the real racing world with unprecedented accuracy thanks to a partnership with one of the most advanced online driving simulator games - Gran Turismo Sport - and the latest hardware and software technologies pertaining to racing rigs and racing simulators.
On Friday 10 September, the organizing committee held a welcoming ceremony at the Royal Automobile Museum in Amman, with prominent influencers and motorsports fans in attendance, and set up an exhibition race. The mega sporting event was organized by Jordan Motorsport - backed by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) Sport Grant Programme - under the sponsorship of Toyota Motor Corporation - represented by Toyota Gazoo Racing - as Title Sponsor, as well as Bank al Etihad as Gold Sponsor, Umniah as Telecom Sponsor, Desert Fox Racing, Fanatec and Jordan Digital Sports Federation.
Commenting on the conclusion of the championship, The Project Director of Toyota Gazoo Racing MENA Digital Cup, Nadim Haddad, stated, “Congratulations to the winners on their outstanding achievements during the first edition of the Toyota Gazoo Racing MENA Digital Cup.
