Samsonite appoints Shaheen Jamil as Business Head for Middle East, Africa, CIS and SAARC countries

Samsonite International S.A., the world’s largest manufacturer and leading luggage brand for more than 100 years, has announced the appointment of Shaheen Jamil as the Business Head covering the Middle East, Africa, Commonwealth of Independent States [CIS] and South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation [SAARC] countries, with immediate effect.

In his new role, Shaheen will be responsible for Samsonite’s day-to-day operations and managing the company’s business in the countries across various channels, spearheading the retail, merchandising, planning, sales & marketing and distribution functions.

Shaheen takes on this new role with proven credentials of 15 years in Strategy, Distributor Management, Retail, Marketing and Sales of various multinational brands across countries. An alumnus of the Aligarh Muslim University, he holds a Bachelors Degree in Economics from St.Xaviers College and has done his Post Graduation from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT)-New Delhi. He has been serving as Deputy Director at Samsonite Middle East since May 2011, heading a set of countries in the GCC, ME, Levant and Africa. During his tenure, he significantly contributed towards consistent growth of Samsonite’s turnover, oversaw expansion of retail footprint, forayed into new countries and successfully launched the new acquisitions of Samsonite in the region among other notable achievements.
