Samsonite reinforces presence across Saudi Arabia; unveils new stores

Reinforcing its aggressive expansion plans across Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in particular, Samsonite Group – the worldwide leader in travel solutions – has announced the opening of its new stores at Al Othaim Mall in Dammam, Al Othaim Mall Ahsa and Mall of Dhahran over the last couple of months. 

The new stores are part of the massive expansion plan across the Kingdom, which will see Samsonite opening another store at the Noor Mall in Madinah later this week. 

The new store openings in KSA underscore Samsonite’s confidence and growth potential in the country. The company had opened a standalone store in Al Tahlia Shopping Center in Jeddah in May 2011. 

The Samsonite store at Al Othaim Mall in Dammam is spread across 1000 square feet while the one at Mall of Dhahran,the best mall in the Eastern Region is approx. 1200 sq ft in size. 

The impending opening at the Noor Mall in Madinah( the 15^th store in the country) is spread across 900 square feet on Level 1, and mainly targets the local population of Madinah as well as the Haj and Umrah pilgrims visiting the Holy City. All the stores showcase the entire range of Samsonite luggage solutions including the latest business collection and sports backpacks.

In his comments on the new stores, Jai Krishnan, Vice President, Middle East, East Africa & SAARC, said: “We are extremely bullish about our expansion in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the new stores reinforce our ambitious growth plans and our strategic objective to be more accessible to our valued customers in the country. There is a huge potential in KSA for world-class luggage solutions, and we are happy to provide accessible stores at strategic locations across various malls in the Kingdom.”

Samsonite, which was established in 1910, has grown from a small company with 20 employees in Denver, Colorado, into a global corporation with over 8,000 employees working in over 30 locations around the globe and annual sales of 1.3 billion USD.
