Samsung Electronics Levant sponsors Amman Tech Tuesdays: Biqalam Arabi Edition
Samsung Electronics Levant, a global leader in digital media and digital convergence technologies, Sponsored Amman Tech Tuesdays: Biqalam Arabi Edition. Held at Zara Expo, with the participation of specialized speakers, such as technology experts, entrepreneurs and decision makers to showcase technological initiatives.
With the aim of transporting Arabic up to speed with the digital age, Samsung Electronics Levant’s sponsorship stems from its “Biqalam Arabi” campaign that calls attention to the inherent beauty of the Arabic language, and highlight Samsung’s technologies that enable users to communicate in Arabic. Samsung Electronics Levant presented its Arabic hand writing recognition feature, and the company’s efforts in offering Arabic content for its users in the MENA region, not only on smartphones and tables but also on smart TVs.
The panel gathered Arabic content specialist; including Muath Freihat Maqar.com Economic Section Editor in chief, Doa’a Ali from 7iber website, Hazem Zuriaqat Founder and CEO of Sawt Network, cartoonist Omar Abdallat and Shireen Yacoub from Edrak, and Jordanian actor Ahmad Ghanem, moderated by Jordanian presenter Hana Al Araj, discussing Arabic content on the internet from different aspects; Written, Audio, Visual, Video and Educational.
Mr. Fadi Abu Shamat, Head of Retail and Corporate Marketing at Samsung Electronics Levant commented by saying: “Languageis the most important means of communication, with it we can express our feelings and thoughts, and to preserve the legacy of the Arabic language, we deploy our technology and innovationsto serve this goal.As Samsung’s technologies play an effective role in helping facilitate the Arabic written word, whether for business, pleasure or education”.
“Users will now be able to comment on social media, take notes or write e-mail messages in Arabic, quickly and easily through the use of the S Pen on the Note series”, he added.
“Biqalam Arabi” Campaign is a platform to highlight the Arabic hand writing recognition feature for Samsung note devices that includes (GALAXY Note 3, GALAXY Note PRO and GALAXY Note 10.1), with the S-Pen, which easily transcribes the written Arabic word to the user’s device. This unique Direct Input feature allows users to easily enter text via any Note application without having to install additional software or configure settings. To encourage consumers to express and share their thoughts on the Arabic language and celebrate its beauty through poignant quotes or phrases, a dedicated website (www.samsung.com/biqalamarabi) has been created for the BiqalamArabi campaign. Those utilizing the Twitter hashtag #BiqalamArabi will also have their comments streamed on the site.
