Samsung donates to the Children’s Cancer Hospital during Ramadan

Samsung Electronics Egypt, a market leader and award-winning innovator in consumer electronics, announced their Ramadan football tournament winners and raised money for the Children’s Cancer Hospital - Egypt 57357, highlighting their dedication to supporting the hospital in buying much needed new medical equipment. The tournament, which ran from the 5th to the 25th of August, was hosted at the CIC playgrounds, saw 32 teams from Egyptian companies participating in the tournament, including 2 teams from Samsung.

“Samsung is delighted to be able to make this donation to the Children’s Cancer hospital, as we know this will go towards buying much needed medical equipment. Working to support children in all areas of life from health to education is an integral part of Samsung’s global CSR strategy, so we were extremely happy to be able to support the Children’s Cancer Hospital for the second year in a row. The tournament was a way for us to bring together Egypt’s largest companies, who all competed with great passion to have this money donated in their names.”

After the month long tournament, 3 winners were named, Etisalat, Shell and CIC. Etisalat who won the tournament, received a cup and each member of the team was awarded a medal and a GALAXY Mini smart phone. Shell, who came in second, also received medals and a cup, in addition to portable hard drives which each member of their team received.

Samsung along with the 30 Egyptian companies were extremely pleased to be able to give back to the Egyptian community, and it is expected that this donation will go a long way to getting much need medical equipment for the hospital.
