Eton Institute, the UAE’s largest language training institute, is hosting a memorable cultural evening -‘Festival de Sanremo’ - highlighting the delights of the Italian Song Festival. This free cultural evening will take attendees on a journey to visit Sanremo, the ‘City of Flowers,’ which has been home to the Italian Song Festival since 1951.

Famous throughout Italy, the ‘Festival de Sanremo’ is an annual song competition which music lovers can’t miss. Taking place since 1951, the festival was initially conducted at the Casino and was broadcasted by radio until 1954. It has served as the inspiration for the ‘Eurovision Song Contest’ and evolved into a grand singing event attracting people from all around the globe every year.

Moaz Khan, Marketing Manager of Eton Institute commented: “Our cultural evenings provide a window to illustrate the different cultures and traditions of the world. This month we chose Italy, which is not only known for its cities, food and fashion but is also home to the famous ‘Festival de Sanremo’ which is one of the oldest singing competitions in Europe.”

“Every year the contest is grander and more interesting than the year before and Eton Institute would like language enthusiasts to experience the true soul of Italy with Karaoke, games and a taste of the Italian cuisine”, he added.

The Festival de Sanremo will be held in Dubai at Eton Institute on the 28th of February 2013, Thursday, 7.00pm – 8.30pm.
