Sharjah City Centre marks a successful trading year at this year’s AGM

Sharjah City Centre, the Emirate’s leading shopping and entertainment destination, recently hosted its Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2012. Held at the prestigious Sharjah Chamber of Commerce, over 80 retailers came together to celebrate their successes for the past year with the mall’s senior management.
An extension of the mall’s new ‘Be a Smart Shopper’ positioning, the theme for this year was suitably named ‘B “e” Smart’. Presented by Sharjah City Centre senior management, retailers were presented with an overview of 2011’s key highlights – including mall performance, development and marketing plans, in addition to a preview of 2012 initiatives.
Marking a successful trading year, while acknowledging retailers’ on-going commitment and hard work, the informative AGM concluded with the highly-anticipated Retailer of the Year awards. Here, 10 awards based on sales performance, operational compliance and standards of customer service were presented – including the popular People’s Choice award that is conducted through an on-line survey and voted for by Sharjah City Centre’s customers.

Sharjah City Centre is located in the heart of Sharjah, along the main Al Wahda Street. Developed and managed by Majid Al Futtaim Properties, the centre has completed its expansion, renovation and redevelopment programme in 2009.
The new extension takes the mall’s total retail area offering 37,553 square metres with a total of 119 shops offering the ultimate value oriented retail mix. The mall is now home to an additional 22 new stores including internationally renowned anchor stores New Look, H&M and Borders.
Other leisure and entertainment facilities in the mall include a Magic Planet and 16 fast food outlets, positioning Sharjah City Centre as one of the dominant Centre’s in the Emirate for value shopping.
