Sharjah Museums Department organizes Al Mahatta camp: Your gate to fun at Al Mahatta Museum
Sharjah Museums Department (SMD) is organizing a two-week edutainment camp from 25 March-5 April at Al Mahatta Museum as part of its initiative “Because We Care”.
Al Mahatta Camp, which includes around 30 children aged 6 years to 15 years, features a series of entertaining and educational workshops.
First day activities started with a welcoming speech by Curator of Al Mahatta Museum. later, staff of the museum distributed special the camp's passports and T-shirts to the participating students, and then took them on a tour of the Museum's various sections. The students then engaged in a workshop titled "Tour and Learn" and later in two workshops on airplane safety, and coloring gypsum models .
As part of the camp, a workshop titled “Listen and Imagine” will be hosted at Sharjah Air Wing and Dubai Air Wing, while another workshop titled “Have Fun and learn” will be held at Kidzania.
Sharjah Discovery Centre will participate in this edutainment campaign with an entraining workshop titled “Explore and learn”.
The camp will also see the organization of an edutainment workshop titled “Challenge and Graduate” that features various activities, such as a Virtual Journey into Space, Rocket Making, learning about Weather conditions, Rain measurement workshop, and Kites Making workshop.
The two-week camp will conclude with competitions, fun and challenging activities as well as distribution of gifts and certificates to the participating children.
This camp is organized by Sharjah Museums Department as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative “Because We Care”, and in line with its approach for teaching children and providing them with valuable information in fun atmospheres with the aim of expanding their knowledge and give them the chance to enjoy their time in a useful and productive activities.

Sharjah Museums Authority includes 15 museums covering Islamic art and culture, archaeology, heritage, science, marine life, Sharjah history and the region.
