Smart Dubai Gears Up to Host Tech-Focused Workshops at its Annual ‘Future, Now’ Event

A series of workshops covering advanced technologies are on the agenda as Smart Dubai prepares to host its annual “Future, Now” event from April 29 until May 2, 2018, in Building 6, Dubai Design District (d3).
The event will include the launch of the Smart Dubai Global Network, which seeks to position Dubai as the global leader in smart cities and technology by bringing together international speakers and experts from both the public and private sectors to exchange knowledge around smart city and technological initiatives, ecosystem enablement efforts supporting start-ups and entrepreneurs, skill development, publications, events, awards and more.
Some of the most notable workshops held at “Future, Now” include a session titled DubaiNow User Feedback that aims to gather user feedback, recommendations and suggestions to improve their experience overall.
SDO Director General Her Excellency Dr Aisha Bint Butti Bin Bishr said: “Smart Dubai is adamant to carry on with its mission to transform the emirate into the smartest and happiest city in the world. We firmly believe that embracing technology and embedding it in the very infrastructure of cities is at the core of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. With that in mind, the Smart Dubai Office is organising yet another instalment of the successful ‘Future, Now’ event to offer workshops and share our insight and expertise in advanced technologies as Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, and the Internet of Things, with local and international bodies active in the advanced technologies and smart cities sector.”
“What makes this year’s edition all the more important is the launch of the Smart Dubai Global Network,” added H.E. Dr Aisha, “which will allow us to better connect with global bodies that share our passion for technology and smart cities”
Meanwhile, the Rashid Tooling Interface session, looks into artificial intelligence, particularly Smart Dubai’s smart advisor Rashid – the advanced service and application that answers users’ queries ranging from starting a business in Dubai to all aspects of living in the emirate. The workshop trains all stakeholders to properly utilise the Rashid service; the platform allows government entities to not only offer their services on the platform, but also to add and regularly update content, allowing Rashid to better answer all queries that Dubai residents and visitors may ask. Later in the Blockchain 101 session, participants will be given the opportunity to explore the use cases monitored by Smart Dubai’s Blockchain team.
Other workshops include an overview of the Dubai Pulse Platform; Graduate Trainee Program (E’DAD) Graduation Ceremony; Global Happiness Policy Report 2018; Disaster Recovery procedures; and IoT advancements.
