Stay one step ahead with ICONIC’s Autumn-Winter fashion closet

With Spring Summer behind us it's time to look forward to the coming cooler weather and the fashion it will bring as Autumn Winter fashion trends are on the horizon. Last season we explored comfort and fuss-free styling and with Autumn Winter, fashion rides high on the wave of carry-over trends but with scope for experimentation where we see fashion becoming bolder, more heady and individualistic with trends ranging from 70s vintage, to mod squad to androgyny to colour and from vintage to wild.
As the 1970s continue to make waves and get ready for some reinterpretation we explore looks as varied as boho to sophisticate. High waisted wide-leg pants or flares, smartly belted in with neat bow-blouses in particularly great fabrics like silk and satin are the flavor during the day. Sheen fabrics with a ‘70s vintage inspired edge, ruflled necklines under blazers or tuxedo jackets and paired with a sharp pair of pants or long slinky gowns with low necklines or asymmetrical hemlines or slits are the ultimate for night-time glamour. ICONIC stocks up on reds which add a contemporary edge while mustard, deep teal, petrol, cognac, berry are set against a backdrop of black and winter white. Colours are used across all classifications from pants and jackets to dresses and knits.
Autumn Winter gets fiercely individualistic and fashion enthusiasts are driven by not only trends created on catwalks but also individual style which will find flavor in colours, fabrics, patterns and silhouettes. Weave polka into your wardrobe as it is youthful and upbeat where sizes range from disc to small, to coin like versions. Next in line is zig-zag which again emerges in many variations going from wide or narrow to grey-scale or vibrant earthy colours. Florals and tribal are still prominent and are seen in a multitude of fabrics and patterns. Tribal ranges from ethnic motifs to geometric patterns while native American inspirations remain strong.
Most dominant as 2011 fashion trends are knife pleats and ruffles. While layers of ruffles lend a playful sense of feminity, pleats give dramatic movement. Pleats in sheer have an ethereal feel and are available in both fine and wider versions. Ruffles again can be tightly packed, scattered or placed uniformly for a subtle texture. Suede and fur have a share in the fall trends appearing on collars and lapels alongside puffy voluminous furs which are paired with midi skirts, wide-leg trousers and dresses.
This season white makes a comeback but more subdued with patterns, piecing and embellishments which mix the tones. Wardrobes will be seen flirting this season with Androgyny where women show their strong, boyish side but in a very sexy way. Women don precision-cut blazers, tailored trousers, buttoned-up shirts and brogues with striking jewellery and a slick of deep red lipstick.
As contrasts set the flavour, fashion gets edgy against a mix of modern and classic styles and ICONIC explores the combination of diverse looks of Autumn Winter with a wardrobe choice of plentiful. The collection hit the stores starting July 25 so put your best foot forward and live fashion like never before.
