STC’s CEO of International Operations receives prestigious award "Outstanding Telecom Leader"

STC Group’s CEO for International Operations Ghassan Hasbani, received the award for “Outstanding Telecom Leader” during the 6th Annual TMT Middle East Finance and Investment 2012 Conference, held recently in Dubai with the participation of 50 regional and international companies.

The award, which was announced last week at a special event held at the Jumeirah Hotel, Dubai, reinforces the STC group’s important status in the telecommunications and information technology industry, achieved through the dedicated work of senior, innovative leaders who lead the Group’s continued growth and success, which has made a positive impact on the journey of the telecommunications and information technology sector in the Middle East and Asia, in addition to the Group’s strategic position in the market and its sustained growth, stemming from the Group’s enormous expertise in mobile communications technology as well as a wide variety of services and products provided for its customers.

Eng. Hasbani said this award belongs to all STC group employees, acknowledging the valuable role they continue to play in advancing the telecommunications and information technology industry by offering innovative services that contribute to the communities and economies in Saudi Arabia as well as all the international markets in which it operates.

Eng. Ghassan Hasbani boasts an impressive record of working in all sectors of the telecommunications industry, stemming from his wide experiences at major telecommunications companies in the Arab World, Asia, Europe and Africa.

STC had received the award for the ‘Best Mobile Phone Operator’, while its subsidiary VIVA received the award for the ‘Best Growth Story’, at the Conference, due to the Group’s leadership in the region and its international growth strategy in providing telecommunications and information technology services and a fruition of its sustained efforts to improve and develop its operational and financial operations, enabling the group to be the principle dynamo of the telecommunications and IT  sector in the Middle East.
