Tamkeen applies new measures to monitor Career Progression Programme

As part of its efforts to support the development of Bahrainis and enterprises in the private sector and enhancing the quality of its programmes, Tamkeen has applied new systems and regulations to its Career Progression Programme. The programme is designed to enable business owners to address skill gaps of their Bahraini employees by offering high-quality training to build their professional capacities and supporting an increment in their salaries.
The new regulations are in line with Tamkeen's programme restructuring process, which is based on three key pillars: customer service, enhancing quality, and maximising impact.
The new regulations entail implementing firm measures on employees to attend the training courses, penalising employers who do not pay the agreed salary increases to employees who complete the training, and ensuring adherence to the required training standards by training service providers. These measures collectively aim to ensure that the programme achieves its objectives.
Commenting on this announcement, Tamkeen’s Vice President for Human Capital Development Amal Al Kooheji, said: "Tamkeen regularly monitors and develops its programmes to meet labour market requirements. We conducted a comprehensive study to assess the performance and impact of the programme, and in light of the findings, firmer measures will be applied to improve the programme's performance as of December 1 2014."
Launched in early 2007, the Career Progression Programme has served more than 14,000 Bahraini employees from more than 280 enterprises, with a total budget of BD 21 million.
