Tamkeen launches "Be Productive" initiative to support micro-enterprises
As part of its efforts to support enterprises and provide them with opportunities to grow and develop, Tamkeen, in cooperation with a number of ministries, banks and major companies in the kingdom, held its first event that comes as part of a series of interactive events under the "Kun Muntijan" (Be Productive) initiative which aims to help micro-enterprises become more aware of the type of support they could leverage and the solutions that are available to them.
Tamkeen's partners in the initiative include the Ministry of Social Development, the Ministry of Industry and, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, Bahrain Development Bank, Family Bank, Ibda’a Bank, Khaleeji Commercial Bank, Al Eslah Society, Batelco, Zain, VIVA and PayTabs.
The activities include lectures highlighting the importance of micro-enterprises and the key challenges that they face in areas such as licensing, finance, marketing, management and other critical functions. In addition, exhibitions will be held to give these businesses a chance to display their locally made products and exchange experience and knowledge with other established enterprises.

Startups trying to find their way and seeking to build their names and market their businesses and products are one of the main segments on which our support is focused on." said Tamkeen Senior Manager - Customer Engagement & Support - Yousif Ali.
"These projects have creative ideas that can expand and develop if nurtured within an integrated environment that offers the needed suitable tools and solutions. And here lies the importance of this new initiative led by Tamkeen with the participation of a number of stakeholders in the public and private sectors." He added.

Tamkeen is a public authority established in August 2006, tasked with supporting Bahrain’s private sector and positioning it as the key driver of economic growth and development. Tamkeen is one of the cornerstones of Bahrain’s national reform initiatives and Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.
Tamkeen has two primary objectives - firstly, foster the development and growth of enterprises, and second provide support to enhance the productivity and training of the national workforce.
