Tamkeen launches Human Resource Management Training workshops in association with Third Wave International

Tamkeen yesterday launched its Human Resource Management Training workshops, part of its ongoing drive to develop human capital according to market requirements to make Bahrainis the employees of choice in the private sector. 

The workshops are conducted in collaboration with Third Wave International (TWI) and DeakinPrime (DP) Australia, the corporate education arm of Deakin University Australia, and aim to enhance the competencies of Bahraini HR professionals. 

The launch was attended by over 100 professionals, including CEOs, General Managers, and HR Directors and Senior Managers.

Tamkeen currently has 10 programmes which fund management and leadership training  3,400 beneficiaries. These programmes offer management and leadership training to enterprises and Bahrainis employed in the private sector to improve productivity, introduce best practices, and build business knowledge that can enable them to enhance their businesses. 

Ms. Amal Kooheji, Senior Manager Human Capital Development of Tamkeen, said Tamkeen seeks to partner with leading enterprises in all its initiatives. By collaborating with renowned international organisations such as TWI and DeakinPrime, Tamkeen ensures that the training is delivered with the highest possible standard while achieving the desired objectives. 

“TWI is keen to enhance HR practices in Bahrain” said Third Wave International CEO / Jt. Managing Director, Dilip de S Wijeyeratne.  Today, the role of HR needs to be transformed from a mere support and administrative function to a strategic business partner.  “In doing so, greater awareness of its role and importance needs to be understood and appropriate steps taken by business leaders and managers to achieve this strategic shift”, he added. 

Jules Cauberg, DeakinPrime CEO in his address said “We are thrilled to be partnering with Tamkeen and Third Wave to launch our first project in the Middle East and look forward to sharing our expertise to develop the skill levels of the Bahrainis. Furthermore he added we are committed to our clients over the long term to deliver end-to-end solutions to meet their strategic objectives. Dr. Keith Abbott, Senior Lecturer of Deakin University gave the participants a taste of Deakin’s HR offering as he spoke on the “Strategic Value of HR”.  Keith illustrated how does Human Resource Management distinguishes itself from the traditional forms of labour management and introduced its deep rooted strategic contribution. 

The launch was followed by an interesting session by Stefan Moraes, Jt. Managing Director of Third Wave International on “HR – A Strategic Business Partner”. He identified the importance of HR being a key player in the strategy formulation of the business. Furthermore he enlightened those present the process of developing a competitive advantage by investing in its people.
