Toshiba launches its first convertible Ultrabook – the Satellite U920t

Toshiba Gulf FZE today launches its first convertible Ultrabook, the Satellite U920t that combines the performance of a laptop with touchscreen functionality and portability.
The 31.8cm (12.5”) convertible Ultrabook transforms easily from a laptop mode to a flat touchscreen interface through its slide-and-tilt hinge design. This unique innovation enables use in traditional laptop mode for optimum productivity or a switch to its touch functionality by sliding the screen over the top of the keyboard for utmost portability.

Versatile Input devices
This convertible UltrabookTM integrates the full notebook and touchscreen inputs including a 5-point multi-touch panel that makes it compatible with a host of applications and games, an A4 size tile matt black with backlight keyboard and a ClickPad with Windows 8 Touchpad support for easy navigation. It also features a Corning Gorilla Glass display with anti-fingerprint coating.
Windows 8 optimised convertible Ultrabook
Packed with Genuine Windows 8, the Satellite U920t provides the best user experience of Windows 8 user interface through an increased computing efficiency of its touchscreen input.
Powered by 3rd Generation Intel CoreTM i5 processors for Ultrabook and Intel® HD Graphics 4000, the Satellite U920t supports graphic-heavy content such as photos and videos. The U920t features an integrated solid state drive (SSD) of up to 128GB of storage allowing users to enjoy quicker boot up times and faster access to data. With up to 6 hours battery life based on Mobile Mark 2007, you can enjoy mobile computing at best.
Fusion of technologies
The Satellite U920t supports the Near-Field Communication (NFC) technology that allows for short-range wireless communication when transferring or recognising another device. You can conveniently pair and set up a peripheral wireless device through the NFC option. It also features essential sensors including a built-in Ambient Light Sensor (ALS) that automatically adjusts lighting conditions to save power, as well as an accelerometer, magnetometer and gyroscope for a high-performance gaming application.
Essential ports and features
The Satellite U920t features two integrated USB 3.0 ports, plus a full-size HDMI port that lets you share all your digital content on a big screen TV—in up to 1080p full HD resolution. Its Sleep-and-Charge support lets users charge other portable devices even when the Ultrabook is switched off. It also sports WLAN and Bluetooth 4.0 that provides fast wireless access to other devices, while the Intel Wireless Display technology allows any content to be streamed to compatible TVs.
This Ultrabook features a super-slim 19.9 mm profile and a light weight at just 1.52 kg. The U920t’s convertible design features a durable Magnesium cover that protects the system’s overall looks.
