Toyota Motor Corporation announced a surge in its Land Cruiser sales for Q1 2013, with a year on year sales growth of 15% in the Gulf Region alone and recorded unit sales of 18,592 units. With these outcomes, Land Cruiser has been able to maintain a leading status in the large SUV segment with a 40.4 % market share.

In the Levant and Yemen regions, the Land Cruiser saw significant growth to record a 140 % increase in sales in the same period, an outcome that highlights the high demand seen on the model.

Consequently, the Middle East region accounts for over 50 % of Land Cruiser’s worldwide sales.

The Land Cruiser stands out by being equipped with a Multi-Terrain select system offering 5 modes, which allows its driver to enjoy various road conditions. Its Wheel Spin and Wheel Lockup system also supports the traction needed to handle slippery surfaces like mud, sand and loose rock, or non-slippery surfaces like moguls and rock.

Furthermore, the vehicle also comes with other intelligent off-roading technologies such as a Crawl Control system, which offers 5 speeds thus allowing a secure drive across different terrain. Its Turn Assist System allows for optimal turning ability in all spaces including tight U-turns.

Through its Multi Terrain monitor, and its four sides, front, and rear cameras enable the driver to have six different views while driving. This system supports the driver by enabling him to see the surrounding conditions even across uneven ground.

It is worth noting that the Land Cruiser is available across the region with a newly developed 6-speed automatic transmission with a Super ECT sequential shift control with a 5.7L V8 engine, a newly developed 4.6L V8 engine, an improved 4.0 V6 engine and a V8 4.5L diesel engine, options that demonstrate the high power and performance of the Land Cruiser.
