Try-a-Tri at Qatar Foundation’s Sport Day Activities

Qatar Foundation will host a fun triathlon to create awareness about the sport, and encourage more participation in it. The “Try-a-Tri” is open to anybody who wishes to try the sport with distances in the adult and children’s category marked as 100m for swimming, followed by a 4km bike race, and ending with a 1.5km running race. Registration for the triathlon can be done on www.qf.org.qa/nsd-triathlon.
Qatar Foundation (QF) will be hosting women-only activities at the Education City stadium. Women can participate, by forming a team of two, to compete in a functional fitness challenge made up of burpees, squats, mountain climbers and others, and using equipment such as rowing machines and medicine balls, to reach the finish line as quickly as possible. Registration for this challenge is open on www.qf.org.qa/nsd-womenonly.
The Education City stadium will also witness an all-girls and all-women’s semi-final and final football matches between 9am–1pm. Teams from Evolution, Paris Saint-Germain Academy, Qatar Academy Doha and Arab International School will compete in the all-girls category; while teams from Elite Academy, Qatar Sports Club, Leeds United and Al Rayyan Club will compete in the women’s category.
There will be special sporting activities that will be hosted by the Qatar Paralympic Committee, in addition to QF’s Ability Friendly Program, for individuals with different abilities. Games such as wheelchair basketball and goal ball can be enjoyed by members of the community.
Besides these, a wide range of activities that can be enjoyed on a first-come first-served basis will be organized throughout Education City’s spaces from 9am to 5pm. Activities such as chess, tennis, fencing, blindfold race, tug of war, and many more are open to adults and children. Details of activities, timings and venue can be found on www.qf.org.qa/national-sport-day-2023.
In line with QF’s dedication to promoting sustainability, Education City will be car-free on National Sport Day. Visitors can park their vehicles in the Academy Car Park or Oxygen Park Parking, and use the Education City Tram to get around, or walk around Education City.
