Turkish Airlines, Europe’s best airline for the fifth year in a row*, hosted its annual Travel Agency Awards in Kuwait to honour local travel agents for their contribution to the airline’s success in the market.

The event welcomed over 300 guests, including the Turkish ambassador to Kuwait, and was held at JW Marriott in Kuwait City.

Last year the airline launched new routes from Kuwait to Trabzon, Bursa, Izmir and Antalya to keep up with the growing demand for flights to new and exciting destinations in Turkey.  Travel agents have helped enable the airline’s increase in revenue in the region whilst further driving passenger demand.

Sami Aydogan, General Manager, Turkish Airlines, Kuwait City said: “We are proud to have had so many of members of the travel fraternity with us at our annual awards ceremony. Our relations with travel agents are integral to our growth, and we wanted to use this opportunity to express our thanks.”

He added: “Today we have daily flights between Kuwait City and Istanbul, connecting the two major cities in an unprecedented manner. This demand is still growing and we plan to ensure this momentum lasts.”
