Turkish Airlines passengers holding tickets from Turkey to the U.S. or vice-versa through Oct. 31 are eligible for exchanges or refunds, Turkey’s flag carrier announced on Monday.

The move came in the wake of U.S. embassies and consulates suspending processing non-immigrant visas, and Turkish embassies and consulates in the U.S. announcing they would do the same.

Passengers flying transit through Istanbul are not affected by the moves, said the Turkish Airlines Press Office. The carrier’s AnadoluJet subsidiary is included in the offer.

Passengers set to travel from Turkey to the U.S. and vice versa -- excluding Istanbul transit passengers -- will be able to exchange their tickets free of charge, said the airline.

“Turkish passport holders going to the U.S. and U.S. passport holders going to Turkey registered on Turkish Airlines' or AnadoluJet scheduled flights between Oct. 9, 2017 and Oct. 31, 2017 can exchange their tickets booked on Oct. 9, 2017 or earlier,” it added.

“Unused tickets can be refunded. Partially unused tickets can be refunded according to the flights flown.”

“Tickets’ validity can be extended to Oct. 31, 2017 (incl.) without an extra fare and free of charge,” it added.
