UAE Ministry of Tolerance Equips Modhesh World Volunteers With Customer Empathy and Engagement Skills in Exclusive Workshop
In keeping with Dubai’s efforts to offer an unmatched service experience to customers and ensure that international visitors feel at home, Modhesh World – one of the most popular indoor edutainment destinations in the region – recently hosted a training workshop for its volunteers that was conducted by the UAE’s Ministry of State for Tolerance.
Spread over two days, the two-hour workshop addressed 40 volunteers at the indoor theme park in Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and fostered a deeper understanding of customer services by shedding light on crucial skill-sets to engage with children effectively. The training workshop was conducted by Mr. Yousef Al-Nuaimi of the Minister of State for Tolerance's office and involved extensive knowledge-sharing between volunteers and training team. The sessions focused on the art of communicating with children and families in a way that is both effective and in harmony with core values of tolerance.
Mr. Yousef Al Nuaimi, Media Consultant at Ministry of State for Tolerance, said: “We were pleased to hold the training workshop for volunteers at Modhesh World and learn about their experiences as service providers at this prestigious destination. Through this initiative, we wanted to foster a culture of tolerance and understanding amongst the staff and volunteers who mostly comprise of young talent. Their performance holds the keys to ensuring that visitors to the park leave with a lasting impression of admiration for both Modhesh World and Dubai, and share positive stories about their various offerings. With mega events in sight, grooming a generation of volunteers skilled in both technical and human sciences is more important than ever.”
Suhaila Saqer Obaid Ghubash, Director, Festivals and Events, Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), said: “We highly appreciate that members of the Minister of State for Tolerance’s office conducted this fruitful training session that brimmed with insights and ideas. Volunteers play an important role in the smooth functioning of Modhesh World. These are young members – both boys and girls – who come from various educational backgrounds to unite and make this large-scale event successful.” She added: “The workshop touched upon important facets of customer communications, like exercising patience while dealing with children. I am confident that these skills will transcend their roles at Modhesh World and help them in their personal and professional pursuits.”
Volunteers: Ones who keep the show running
Over 55 volunteers supervise games and rides, handle information desks throughout the park and are stationed at the hall entrance and exit points to ensure smooth operations at the venue. A dedicated team from Dubai Tourism carefully evaluates the candidates against a stringent set of parameters. Candidates are mostly school and university students who are passionate about spending their summer vacations in a productive environment and gather practical industry experience. Selected cohort of volunteers then undergo an extensive training programme conducted by Dubai Tourism officials, after which they are formally inducted to work at Modhesh World.
Modhesh World runs in Hall 1-6 in the Dubai World Trade Centre. Tickets are valued at just AED 20 and kids under the age of two enter for free. Regular timings: 11:00 am to 11:00 pm from Saturday to Wednesday and 11:00 am till midnight from Thursday to Saturday. As a special gesture, Modhesh World organisers have introduced a ‘special savings’ deal where visitors now can enjoy 50% discount on entry fee and select rides from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm Sunday to Thursday, until August 12th, 2017 till August 12th, 2017.
