University of Dubai holds indoor football tournament

The University of Dubai (UD) recently organized a friendly indoor football tournament participated by nine teams composed of students, graduates and alumni, held at Ahmed Bin Rashed Hall in Muhaisnah 1. 

With ten players per team, a total of 90 players partook in the tournament. The teams were divided into two groups. Four teams reached the semi finals leaving two finalists contending for the title. The winners were awarded gold medals and the runners up received silver medals. 

The Golden Cup and Silver Cup will be awarded to both team captains during the Student Life Awards Ceremony (SLAC) which the Department of Student Services holds annually to recognize students and organizations that have contributed to successful events at UD. 

Dr. Omar Hefni, President of UD said: “We are very proud to organize the UD Indoor Football Tournament that brought our students, graduates and alumni together in a friendly match. It was an exciting game and a lot of football fans were entertained by the live matches. The tournament created a community spirit and the games were a truly enjoyable event for both the players and spectators.”
