United Development Company takes home two honours at the prestigious Construction Week Awards

United Development Company has been named ‘Developer of the Year’ and its flagship project The Pearl-Qatar the ‘Residential Project of The Year’ at the inaugural Construction Week awards held in Doha in September 2011.

UDC is among Qatar's leading public shareholding companies listed in the Qatar Stock Exchange. The dual awards are the latest peer and industry recognition for The Pearl-Qatar which is seen as one of the World’s most innovative and luxurious urban development projects.

Accepting the award at the gala ceremony at Doha’s Four Seasons Hotel, The Pearl Qatar’s Technical Director Jerry Jackson said the awards were recognition of UDC’s and The Pearl-Qatar’s commitment to excellence and to creating world class residential and leisure developments.

“We are very excited in the constant increase of residents moving to and enjoying the environment at The Pearl-Qatar. This has been a great year for us as the project is developing at great speed and it has established itself as a premium destination for residential living as well as leisure activities. This project has been realized as a result of the vision of His Highness the Emir and H.H. the Heir Apparent”.

“Over the past 12 months we have continued our path of growth, with two new towers opening in late 2010 and a string of high end retail stores and internationally known restaurants added to our repertoire. The inaugural Construction Week awards saw a total of 17 awards handed out across a range of individual, company and project categories which celebrated and recognized achievements in Qatar’s construction industry.
