University of Dubai (UD) President Dr. Omar Hefni met with Entrepreneurs of Arabia Business Development Director Tariq Al Najjar last week at the university’s Deira campus to discuss how the two organizations can benefit each other. Entrepreneurs of Arabia (EoA) are a company that connects entrepreneurs with investors, bringing ideas to life and to the market.

“Our students are eager to get their ideas into the world and Entrepreneurs of Arabia will help make that happen,” Dr. Hefni said. “It is a very promising partnership, which I think could yield some tremendous results.”

To introduce the concept to the university community, EoA is working with Talent, Development and Research (TDR). Founded by University of Dubai MBA students Abdul Rahman Badwan and Ahmed Al-Reyami, TDR is a group committed to developing a community of creativity and innovation in education. The group plans to work with EoA to help spur potential profitable ideas through a series of lectures, workshops, pitching competitions and networking events.

Tariq Najjar said EoA is excited to have formed an alliance with UD to promote entrepreneurship in the region. “Our main objective is to close the gap between innovation and industry, as well as to accelerate job creation,” he said. “There is a lot of new innovation and creativity in the region, specifically among new generations, which is a reason that led the EoA to collaborate with a reputable education institution such as UD.”

In addition to being available to UD’s undergraduate students in both its College of Business Administration and College of Information Technology, the benefits of the partnership will also be available to UD’s graduate students and professors. By working with the University of Dubai and its community, Najjar hopes the Entrepreneurs of Arabia can turn some ideas and dreams into reality by connecting them with potential investors and in doing so, contribute to economic growth in the region.
