Uzma Dadabai donates proceeds to dreams society

Proceeds from the sale of paintings by local artist, Uzma Dadabai’s Jabal Al Noor exhibition supported by the Capital Club, Bahrain’s premier private business club, recently were donated to the Dreams Society, a charity registered in Bahrain, whose main objective is making the dreams of children who are terminally ill or have debilitating diseases, come true. During the exhibition, Ms Dadabai had 50 works of art on display. A total of BD 8,000 was raised from the sale of the paintings, all of which was donated to the Dreams Society. 

The ‘Jabal Al Noor’ or ‘Mountain of Light’ Exhibition was a solo launch by Uzma Dadabai, the preview of which was officially unveiled by Shaikha Hind Bint Salman Al Khalifa. Ms Dadabai is a self taught artist whose artistic skills have matured over the years. She has participated in several exhibitions with international artists. She draws her inspiration from Arabic calligraphy and verses (ayats) from the Holy Quran. The power of light of Allah’s guidance, ‘Noor,’ is reflected in her latest collection.

The Dreams Society organised a special party to thank the artist, Uzma Dadabai and the Capital Club Bahrain for their care and generosity. The party was held at Salmaniya Hospital’s Children’s ward, where children enjoyed special games and celebrations along with their parents. The donation is expected to realise the dreams of several children at the Society which will put a smile on their faces.

The Capital Club organises events such as this as part of its commitment to the community with a series of programs geared towards promoting professional development, women, cultural heritage and local and international art.
