VIVA elected as a member of the SAMENA Telecom Council Board

Kuwait Telecommunication Company VIVA has announced today that is has been elected as a member of the South Asia, Middle East & North Africa (SAMENA) Telecommunications Council Board, that includes a number of high profile telecommunication companies in the MENA & South Asia region.

Commenting on this occasion, VIVA CEO Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Badran said that “VIVA was elected as a member in the SAMENA Telecom Council Board, the specialized organization in telecommunications that operates in several continents, following the meeting that was held in Doha, Qatar, in November”.

Al-Badran added that “The decision was made in Doha meeting to expand the board of directors to include Key Executives of some companies including VIVA Kuwait, pointing out that this choice confirms the well deserved status that VIVA occupies today”.

SAMENA Telecommunications Council Board, had previously declared that VIVA Kuwait joined the council being one of the most important telecommunication companies in Kuwait & the Middle East.

SAMENA board represents over 40 telecommunications operators in 25 markets, representing an aggregate subscriber base of 700 million mobile users, 79 million fixed-line users, and 22 million broadband users.

SAMENA Council’s membership embodies a community of telecom operators, manufacturers, government bodies, academia, and leading global management consultancy organizations. It focuses on digitization and broadband investment policies, and aims to promote beneficial regulation and governance that further industry evolution, as well as cooperation among key ICT industry stakeholders.

SAMENA board plays an important role in enhancing the cooperation methods & providing a stand for discussion to facilitate the communication between different parties about issues concerning the telecommunication sector. The increase of members confirms the importance of the board in the future development of communication technology & to market in 3 of the most developing regions in the world, South Asia, Middle East & North Africa.
