VIVA concludes its sponsorship of the 8th Jobs Forum Exhibition

fastest-growing telecom operator,VIVA, hailed the successful conclusion of its Platinum sponsorship of the Kuwait Jobs Forum. The sponsorship came in line with VIVA’s commitment to providing employment opportunities to Kuwaiti youth. The Job Forum was held under the patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and attended by HE Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Minister of State for Municipality Affairs.

Eng. Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Badran, VIVA’s Chief Executive Officer, stated that the company is always keen to support the national workforce and play an active role in creating opportunities, namely at VIVA. Al-Badran also highlighted the Manpower and Government Restructuring Program’s (MGRP) report findings, which indicate that VIVA is amongst the top companies in employing Kuwaiti nationals and has recorded over 60% Kuwaitis amongst its workforce over the span of three years, underpinning the success of the companies adopted employment strategy.

Al-Badran added that VIVA is continuously seeking to attract nationals through various employment programs, all of which are aimed at facilitating the employment process within the company. One of the company’s major programs focuses on being present at universities, where it can attract Kuwait's young talent.

Al-Badran concluded: “The Job Forum was, without a doubt, the appropriate platform for VIVA to meet and encourage bright and enthusiastic young Kuwaitis to join our family. We will continue to recruit and develop local expertise as well as to invest in community initiatives to inspire young people to join the telecommunications sector.”

In 2012, VIVA had signed a memorandum of agreement with the MGRP, which committed the company to supporting the MGRP’s ongoing efforts to provide job opportunities for Kuwaiti nationals in the private sector through the support of small businesses and training programs.
