Keeping in line with Kuwait Telecommunication Company VIVA's commitment in being the pioneer to support the various intellectual and cultural activities aimed to develop new fingerprint in the Kuwaiti society, VIVA has announced its main sponsorship of TEDxSafat, the conference organized by WAY Communications under the slogan “Ideas Worth Spreading" that will take place on the stage of Babtain Central Library for Arabic Poetry on 18 January.

Commenting on this occasion; VIVA CEO, Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Badran stated that “VIVA is always keen to support such events, which aim to create intellectual cultural awareness within the society out of its social responsibility towards the community we live in.”

Al Badran added that TEDxSafat will be held for the first time in Kuwait as it is the Kuwaiti version of the TED International Conference which is being held annually in the United States for more than 25 years, with the aim of spreading new ideas about technology, design and entertainment.

He emphasized, “One of the most important reasons behind our sponsorship of TEDxSafat is the fact that its goals come into line with the values ​​of VIVA, based on engaging, energetic and fulfilling in order to let its customer enjoy a better life, besides the vision to do a radical change in everything it offers to enrich the lives of its customers through communication, entertainment, and data transfer, thus how the word VIVA originated, which means "to live."!”

Al Badran continued “this event attracts a large number of individuals and agencies interested in coexistence with the international experience of TED and those who believe in the importance of exchanging the old rigid ideas, with innovative inspiring ideas that deserve recognition and attention instead, in order to build a better future for all.”

He explained that TEDxSafat would contribute to grab attention for the innovative, inspiring thoughts, success stories, and encourage them to create new and inspiring ideas, where it is expected to be attended by a group of valuable speakers who have a passion for innovative ideas, which will revolve around technical, design, entertainment, science, arts, architecture, global issues and many others.

Al Badran concluded “Having a Kuwaiti version of TED is a real and a rare opportunity to benefit and apply  the experience of TED world locally, particularly in the present time where we need to communicate with the thinkers and to highlight the Kuwaiti creative and encourage them to create ideas that make a difference in our lives. " He also mentioned that VIVA’s contribution to the society is endless as it aims in playing a key role by investing in long term projects aimed at the development and enrichment of the community where we operate and live.

It is noteworthy to mention that The WAY Communications is the organizer of TEDxSafat in Kuwait after the success of the Conference of the TED regionally and internationally in various countries around the world, besides it has been hosted in many countries of the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Bahrain, Qatar, Abu Dhabi, Ramallah, Muscat, Beirut, Cairo and Baghdad. Moreover, the name TED stands for “Technology – Entertainment – Design” whereby the X means that the event is organized independently.
