VIVA honors trainees from MGRP summer program

VIVA, Kuwait’s newest and most advanced mobile telecommunications service provider, has concluded its successful summer training program for trainees from the Manpower and Government Restructuring Program (MGRP) as part of its Kuwaitization program by holding an honoring ceremony for the top six performers.
The honoring ceremony took place on 5 September 2012 at VIVA’s headquarters and was attended by the six honored trainees. The trainees worked in the Sales department team where they were given in-depth sales training, tuition and sales targets to meet within a specific timeframe. Six out of the 14 trainees were honored for meeting the sales department’s criteria and the sales targets set.
Commenting on this occasion, Eng. Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Badran, VIVA’s Chief Executive Officer said: “We are very proud of our Kuwaitization program and our ongoing cooperation with MGRP. VIVA has invested heavily in the professional development of Kuwaiti talent and in offering young Kuwaitis opportunities to build their careers and contribute to our country’s economic advancement. The Kuwaitization program is significant for VIVA because of our commitment to recruit and develop local expertise as well as investing in community initiatives which encourage young people to join the telecommunications sector. We are very pleased that we are able to contribute towards the economy by supporting the aims of MGRP in this way.”
Earlier this year, VIVA had signed a memorandum of agreement with MGRP which committed the company to supporting MGRP’s ongoing efforts to provide job opportunities for Kuwaiti nationals in the private sector through the support of small businesses and training programs.
Through dedicated HR practices geared to supporting Kuwaitis, including tailored training and development, VIVA is helping people to achieve their career aspirations in the telecommunications industry.
