VIVA welcomes Daniel Alves on his visit to Kuwait

Being the platinum sponsor of the annual Al Roudan Indoor Football Tournament, VIVA, Kuwait’s fastest-growing and most developed telecom operator, took part in a private event hosted by the organizers to meet the well-known football player Daniel Alves da Silva.

VIVA’s Corporate Communications team and esteemed guests welcomed Alves at the VIP hall at Kuwait International Airport, who participated in a friendly match at the Al Roudan tournament.  

During the event, Alves talked about his football experience over the years and shared his views about sports in the region, particularly in Kuwait, and hailed VIVA’s commitment towards sports and football over the past six years, including its partnership with Manchester United and Real Madrid, to its strategic sponsorship with Kuwait Football Association (KFA).

Daniel Alves da Silva, commonly known as Dani Alves is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays for Spanish club FC Barcelona and the Brazilian national team. Before joining Barcelona, Alves spent a successful six-year spell with Sevilla, winning two UEFA Cups and the Copa del Rey. He joined Barcelona where he won the Treble in his first season with the club and in the next season, he won the Spanish Super Cup, European Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup. Also, he helped the club to clinch another Spanish Super Cup, two league titles and a UEFA Champions League in the years that followed. In 2011, Alves was appointed as a Special Olympics Ambassador for its Global Football program, charged with promoting respect and inclusion in football for people with intellectual disabilities, particularly in the run up to the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

VIVA’s sponsorship of the Al Roudan Tournament stems from its strong belief in the importance of the sports sector, it is also part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility program to help generate more interest and awareness among the public regarding sports. This tournament is one of the leading and most prominent sports activities held during Ramadan. It also represents VIVA’s support to football fans by presenting them the opportunity to follow this exciting sporting competition between the various teams, as well as becoming familiar with all the details and updates taking place throughout the tournament.  

VIVA has been keen to communicate effectively with all segments of society, especially the youth, through supporting their activities and contributing to the promotion of sports competition during the Holy month of Ramadan.
