W Muscat Excels on All Fronts at 2020 Hospitality Champions Awards

W Muscat won three awards at the inaugural Hospitality Champions 2020 with employees taking home the top spots in events, engineering and kitchen assistant categories, and achieved a Highly-Commended recognition in the waiter category. The inaugural awards ceremony honored employees working in Oman’s hospitality sector across twenty-four categories, recognizing the vast spectrum of people required to keep the industry functioning successfully

“Our talent are extremely dedicated and Khulood, Issam and Mohammed are totally deserving of these awards,” said Gerald Chevasson, General Manager of W Muscat. “We always look for employees who embody our mission to fuel a lust for life and continue pushing boundaries and the Hospitality Champions 2020 are an ideal way to recognize the many vital, yet often overlooked, people who make up the hospitality industry and keep our hotel delivering seamless and memorable moments for guests.” 

Receiving recognition in four categories overall, W Muscat’s Khulood Al Hajri won for Events Person, Issam Al Balushi won for Engineering, Mohammed Al Busaidi won for Kitchen Assistant, and Amjad Al Hamdani received the Highly-Commended recognition for Junior Waiter.

“Events at W Muscat are designed to provide guests with an original and unexpected experience and I love finding ways to add an extra spark that makes it unforgettable,” said Khulood Al Hajri. “I always felt that I was made for events and the hospitality industry was a perfect match because it’s continuously growing in Oman. I love seeing how happy guests are after a great event and this award has motivated me to continue pushing for even more.”  

The Hospitality Champions 2020 - the first awards ceremony of its kind in Oman – was launched by the National Hospitality Institute to celebrate and encourage employment within Oman’s hospitality sector. The industry attracts a large number of Omani employees each year and accounts for a key component of Oman’s economic development and Vision 2040.
