WCMC-Q extends application period for biomedical research training for graduates

The WCMC-Q Biomedical Research Training Program for Nationals will recommence in January 2012 as part of the bold plans of Qatar Vision 2033 to advance the country with sustainable development.

The research training program is a unique opportunity for fresh college graduates with degrees related to biomedical or biological sciences to gain hands on experience in the world-class research labs of Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar.

It is aimed at recent graduates who are interested in pursuing a career as a bench scientist, clinician or biomedical researcher. It is a full time course lasting six months and trainees will receive a graduation certificate on completion.

The students and trainees are also given a stipend as part of a comprehensive compensation package. The program is fully funded by WCMC-Q in partnership with the Qatar Science Leadership Program (QDSLP).

Qatar Vision 2033 aims to transform Qatar into an advanced and progressive nation by encouraging education and training in a variety of disciplines to develop a new generation of Qatari experts and leaders capable of delivering the expectations of Qatari society.
