WISE Addresses Impact of Disruptive Technologies on Education at Us Forum

The World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE), an initiative of Qatar Foundation (QF), recently participated in the inaugural Curiosity Conference on artificial intelligence (AI) and education held at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, California.
Stavros Yiannouka, CEO, WISE, who delivered a keynote address on the education challenges and opportunities posed by developments in AI, said: “The future of education ought to be, and increasingly is, a matter of concern for everyone, everywhere. It’s therefore important for WISE to regularly engage with diverse stakeholders from the fields of economics, business, and technology, to ensure that education remains high on their agendas, but also to continuously educate ourselves about new developments, and to reflect on the impact they have on education, and vice-versa.”
WISE was the inaugural partner of the conference, organized by RoboTerra Inc, which is one of the first forums in Silicon Valley to explore the relationship between AI and education.
In addition, WISE recently co-curated the closing plenary of the World Strategic Forum organized by the International Economic Forum of the Americas (WSF-IEFA) in Miami from April 16-17. The session explored the impact of disruptive technologies, such as AI and automation, on the economy.
The session served to highlight the important role that education can and should play in addressing some of the challenges posed by these technologies. WISE has been the preferred education partner for the IEFA for the past four years and has also shared its global expertise and perspectives at other flagship IEFA forums, such as the Conference de Montreal and Conference de Paris.
