Xbox 360 to showcase biggest blockbuster games and Kinect titles at GAMES11

Microsoft has today announced its stellar line up of new titles for Xbox 360 which it will showcase at GAMES11, the 2011 edition of one of the Middle East’s highly anticipated gaming events, taking place at the Dubai Mall Ice Rink between 22nd and 24the September. 

Aman Sangar, Interactive Entertainment Business Category Lead MEA, Microsoft said: “We are delighted to bring to the region this year’s edition of GAMES – GAMES 11 and are looking forward to showcasing the much awaited Xbox 360 games and experiences to our valued consumers in the Middle East.   

“At GAMES11, Xbox fans will get the exclusive opportunity to play games that have not yet been launched in the region, including the biggest blockbuster games and hottest new Kinect titles.” 

Fans from all over the region will be able to try a variety of titles launching in the next few months during what will be the biggest year in Xbox 360’s history to date, from beloved classics and shooters to Kinect titles that will get you on your feet and in the action.

Xbox 360 is the platform to play this holiday’s top games and promises to thrill core gamers with titles only available on Xbox 360, including the third and final edition of the iconic Gears of War saga. 

BLOCKBUSTER TITLES

Gears of War 3

“Gears of War 3” is the spectacular conclusion to one of the most memorable and celebrated sagas in videogames. Developed by Epic Games exclusively for Xbox 360, “Gears of War 3” plunges players into a harrowing tale of hope, survival and brotherhood. 

Players fight on as Marcus Fenix, the grizzled war hero and leader of Delta Squad. Eighteen months after the fall of the last human city, the war against the Locust rages on. Meanwhile, deep beneath the surface, a fearsome new threat is infecting the planet from within. With survivors scattered and civilization in ruins, time is running out for Marcus and his comrades as they fight to save the human race. 

Forza Motorsport 4

“Forza Motorsport”, the highest rated racing franchise of this generation, makes its return to the race track this autumn with Forza Motorsport 4. Gamers in the United Arab Emirates will be able to play the game before its release on 14 October. 

The definitive racing game of 2011, “Forza Motorsport 4” brings together genre-defining, controller-based racing, the power and freedom of Kinect, and content from leading brands like Top Gear to create an automotive experience unlike anything before it. 

Kinect for Xbox 360 AT GAMES 11

Meanwhile, in a nod to the success of the Kinect, which was officially named the fastest selling consumer electronics device in a period of 60 days earlier this year by the Guinness Book of World Records, Microsoft is introducing a plethora of Kinect titles that will guarantee hours of controller-free entertainment for the 50 million Xbox 360 owners worldwide. 

Dance Central 2

Fans will have the opportunity to try out the second edition of Dance Central before anyone else in the United Arab Emirates at GAMES 11. Scheduled for release on 21 October, 2011, Dance Central 2 will give movers and shakers the chance to strut their stuff with the introduction of full body two-player simultaneous dance tracking, a deeper one- or two-player campaign experience, and an improved fitness mode. 

“Dance Central 2's” fresh, must-have soundtrack will feature more than 40 songs on disc, including Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way”, “I Like It” by Enrique Iglesias, and Daft Punk’s “Technologic”. 

Kinect Sports: Season Two

During the show, sports fans will also be the first to experience two all-new sports - tennis and darts. With Kinect Sports: Season Two releasing on October 25, 2011, fans will be able to enjoy this edition’s latest exciting features like in-game voice commands and enhanced motion tracking.

Kinect Disneyland Adventures

Surround yourself with magic as you fly, dance and dive into classic Disneyland park attractions. Leave the controller behind as you interact with over 40 beloved Disney characters and experience magical moments beyond your imagination. 

Kinect Star Wars

“Kinect Star Wars” brings the Star Wars universe to life like never before. Harnessing the controller-free power of Kinect for Xbox 360, “Kinect Star Wars” allows fans to physically experience training as a Jedi, using the Force and battling with a Lightsaber. Using full body motions, players can live out the ultimate Star Wars fantasy, no controller required. 

EXCITING THIRD-PARTY TITLES

Tom Clancy, Your Shape, Call of Duty and more…

The industry’s best creators and publishers have recently demonstrated their commitment to submerge Xbox fans even deeper in the action. This has been supported in particular by the Ubisoft announcement that all future Tom Clancy games will be Kinect-enhanced, including “Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Future Soldier”. 

Meanwhile, GAMES 11 visitors will also be able to immerse themselves in the forthcoming “Your Shape Fitness Evolved 2012’, which hits shelves on November 10, 2011 and uses precise, real-time and full-body tracking to put your body in the game for the ultimate ‘at home’ work out.  

These games will be showcased alongside other titles, including “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3”, “FIFA 12”, “Fruit Ninja Kinect”, “The Gunstringer”, “Rise of Nightmares”, and “PES 2011”. 

Launched in 2008, GAMES is a regional gaming event that grew from 500 visitors in its first year to 50,000 visitors in 2010. Entry is free of charge and the event is open from 3pm until midnight on September 22, and 10am until midnight on September 23 and 24.
